Black & Green Wednesday Forum
Confronting Police Violence in St. Louis

WHEN:    7 pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2005
WHERE:  Ft. Gondo , 3151 Cherokee, St. Louis MO 63118

Police misconduct and violence are serious concerns for St. Louis citizens. For five years, activists have been working on a bill to create a civilianbody that would increase police accountability by investigating complaints.

On March 2, 2005 a panel will look at recent changes that have gone into the Kennedy Bill for a Civilian Oversight Board in the City of St. Louis. Speakers will review the police accountability measures, political issues affecting the Kennedy Bill, and the timetable for its passage.

This program will kick off the final push for civilian oversight. An audience discussion will follow forum presentations by:

John Chasnoff [moderator],
Coalition Against Police Crimes and Repression
Terry Kennedy,
sponsor, Kennedy Bill for a Civilian Oversight Board
Irene J. Smith,
Alderwoman, Ward 1,
Democratic primary candidate for Mayor of St. Louis
Willie Marshall,
Green Party candidate for Mayor of St. Louis,
21st Ward Committeeman
