Celebrate Black History Month. Frantz Fanon's analysis of the creation of the social conditions of oppression is a powerful critique of colonialism. We will explore Fanon's life and the philosophical thought that influenced him in writing The Wretched of the Earth, a book which has caught the imagination of generations. Part of Fanon's legacy is the multiple struggles against neocolonialism continuing in west Africa. From the earliest days of anti-imperialism through today, women have played a key role in liberation movements.
