Since November, 2013 Missouri has executed a man nearly every month. They include black men sentenced by all-white juries, men who have repented and have become model prison citizens, men whose sentence was disproportionate, and men of limited cognitive ability. Missouri is not executing the “worst of the worst” and must stop. As always, the death penalty reflects the prejudice of the economic/political system. As in Ferguson, it is time to put a halt to legalized murder.
