Bob Suberi is a citizen of the US and of Israel, neither of which protects him from
settler violence. On August 20, 2026 he returned from Masafer Yatta in the West
Bank. What he experienced on this trip was a quantum leap in the frequency of settler
violence, the virulent and sadistic nature of those attacks, and the coordinated
squeeze imposed upon Palestinian communities. Israel intends to crush their spirit by
preventing weddings, funerals, memorials and attacking the welfare of children by
blocking their access to schools. The village in which Bob lived, Umm Al Khair, is a
microcosm of events happening throughout the West Bank.
