Black people should have the same percentage of representatives in national, state and local government as is their percentage of the population. Otherwise, there is taxation without representation. Many laws already disenfranchise people of color. It’s getting worse. Weakening the Voting Rights Act has resulted in new laws making it harder to vote. People need to understand how they can make their voices heard, the importance of voting and what they need to do to run for office. How could convention nominations and multi-seat districts increase representation of the underrepresented?
