Glossary for Pesticides Used by the City of St Louis

Roundup (aka Roundup Plus, Roundup Pro, Roundup Ultra) A broad spectrum herbicide
manufactured by Bayer (formerly Monsanto). Listed as a probable carcinogen by the International
Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) (4) and the state of California (5).
Aqua Neat another glyphosate based herbicide manufactured by Nufarm. Used for destruction of
emerged aquatic weeds, and many herbaceous and woody plants.
Resolute made by Syngenta, is a selective pre-emergent used to control grass and broadleaf weeds.
Active ingredient: prodiamine, which is listed as a "Group C possible carcinogen" by the EPA (6). It
presents an inhalation hazard and is highly persistent and very toxic to aquatic life according to the
Fluoride Action Network
Treflan, a pre-emergent herbicide whose active ingredient (Trifluralin) is listed as "possible
carcinogen" by the EPA and has been shown by sources to be highly persistent and toxic to aquatic
organisms (6)
Evade by Loveland Products, is a a selective pre-emergent Active ingredient: prodiamine, suspected
of causing cancer and other negative health effects in test animals (7)
Cutrine an algaecide manufactured by applied biochemists, active ingredient: Copper Ethanolamine
Complex, “Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin.” (from the product label)
Lesco Prosecutor A non-selective herbicide manufactured by Bayer, active ingredient: glyphosate
