THEME: What Does the Green Party Believe In?
The Green Party supports organic food free of contamination by pesticides, herbicides and GMOs. The other side of good health is a single payer system and Medicaid expansion.
Greens are known for opposing fossil fuel and nuclear power. We cannot live safely with concealed guns, especially in schools, or by allowing automatic firearms. Instead, we should advocate forgiving student loans and free university education.
Civilian oversight boards, police body cameras and ending mass incarceration are first steps in overcoming injustice in law enforcement. Confronting systemic racism also requires a massive jobs program. Unfortunately, the US is experiencing a frenzy of privatizing and eliminating jobs that are a mainstay of black employment. In addition to bringing back civil service jobs that have been outsourced, we need a shorter work week in order to reach full employment.
