Green Time TV - Do Psychotropic Drugs Damage the Environment and Users?

on Wed, 04/25/2012 - 9:07am

by Don Fitz

Medical treatment is not environmentally neutral.  So, when treatment is unnecessary, the result is damage with no benefit.  The sickness industry is responsible for mining and processing the raw material that goes into equipment and buildings that provide diagnoses, treatments and hospitalizations.  Some of these do not help us or even leave us in worse shape than we were before.  Construction and parking lots for insurance and other medical-related buildings contribute to storm water runoff and overproduction of cement, one of the worst causes of CO2 emissions.

Green Time TV: Health Care in Cuba: Lower Cost and Environmental Protection

on Mon, 04/02/2012 - 10:52am

by Don Fitz

Can poor countries get quality health care without the expense and  environmental damage of a US health care model?  It is impossible for them to afford the massive buildings and parking lots that characterize US insurance companies and sickness institutions. But Cuba, has a life expectancy equal to the US at a fraction of the cost.

Green Time TV - Contemplating Green Technologies

on Fri, 02/24/2012 - 2:57pm

How could a $20 light bulb cost less than a $1.48 one?  Ideas for green living are popping up everywhere.  Right now, light bulbs are a glowing issue.  We all know that fluorescent bulbs are far more efficient than the incandescent ones that are being phases out.  But no sooner than we get used to one new light bulb than LEDs take over.

World Food Day at Monsanto World Headquarters

on Thu, 09/15/2011 - 4:11pm

It ain't easy organizing anti-Monsanto pickets in St. Louis, where it seems that every other person has a relative, neighbor or friend who works for the corporate demon and is worried about its retaliation. Nevertheless, the Gateway Green Alliance and Safe Food Action St. Louis planned a demonstration as part of the October 16, 2011 World Food Day and Millions Against Monsanto nation-wide events put together by the Organic Consumers Association.
